e-Learning requires technology. There are endless tools and platforms. In addition, new tools and new features are constantly being added to existing tools. It is not always easy to see the wood for the trees.

The danger of such statements is that the important role of technology is underestimated. Technology is, after all, a crucial factor in e-learning. Some recognisable examples:
- The tool you would like to use is not on the list of permitted tools in your organisation.
- During a synchronous online training course, not all your participants have access to the chat that you wanted to use for interaction.
- You use a forum to exchange good examples. Unfortunately, not everyone has found the way to this forum, so these learners miss out on a lot of information.
- A tool that used to be free of charge suddenly becomes a paid tool.
- You have a great idea for a learning activity, but you don't know of a tool that can make it happen (or the tool simply doesn't exist).
